On the Day

Our Hope for the Day

is that you come and be encouraged to journey well, regardless of the outcome. Our prayer is that you will feel able to come as you are, in whatever state that is, and to hear from God as a couple. Our greatest desire is that this day, at the start of a new year, will give you opportunity to retreat and get away as a couple, to be looked after a little, loved, prayed-for, understood, informed and refreshed.

Obviously these are incredibly sensitive topics, so please be assured that the day will be discrete, private and confidential. The hope is, that there will be something helpful and encouraging for everyone, and a reassurance you are certainly not alone.

Sofa Couples

One of the most popular and positively fed back on aspects of the day; this informal and conversation-based session will give you chance to hear stories and testimonies from pretty much every angle of infertility. This session is a closed session, it must not be recorded or photographed and we ask for total confidentiality as our guests and friends courageously and generously help us through their personal stories, explore the various options given to couples during the infertility journey. Together we will talk about adoption, IVF, egg and sperm donation, embryo adoption, and will also touch upon miscarriage and baby loss to name but a few. We can hear first hand what some of these families have prayerfully chosen as their resolution in building a family (with and without children) and how they got there/how it feels now. The sofa couples session provides an opportunity to reflect on how their decisions may help us in the present or the future. Come with an open mind and soft heart; lean in, nibble on some cake, sip your tea or coffee, leave to one side anything that isn’t for you, and dare to believe for Hope in ways you may not have yet explored or considered.

“The sofa couples session was incredible - and possibly the most helpful part, due to the range of stories shared. It certainly opened our mind to options we haven't even considered”

Prayer

Whilst this is not intended to be a physical ‘healing’ conference we of course hope and pray that God will come and do what only He can do during our time together. If you would like prayer for healing we will be delighted to pray for you but this will in no way be forced upon anyone - and only done if you ask us to. General prayer ministry will be available throughout the day in response to the sessions, or if you are coming with a need you’d like our team to pray into specifically. We have a hand-picked team who would love to pray for you as a couple, to talk with you, and listen to The Lord with you. If you’d like to organise a 1:1 prayer ministry time with our prayer team please email us directly once you have booked your place and we will organise a specific time slot on the day, in a discreet place where you can talk and pray as a couple or individually. The capacity for 1:1 appointments will be limited but we will do our best to accommodate everyone of course.

“We can honestly say that the day has fed us so well: we’ve been thinking back to it and feasting upon the hope, comfort, wisdom and practicalities that it gave us in gluttonous quantities since then. What a day it was, from the very first words uttered to the last prayers prayed, you fed us, cared for us and loved us.”
