Frequently Asked Questions

When is the next Rhythm of Hope event?

Our next Rhythm of Hope Retreat Day is happening on Saturday 18th 2025. Bookings are now yet open!  You can book at using the following link.

Do we have to come for the whole day?

Admittedly it’s a long day! But it is planned as a bit of a journey together, and whilst the keynote sessions can be enjoyed in isolation they are best enjoyed woven together throughout the entirety of the day. We would love you to join us for the whole day but we will not turn away anyone who can only come for part of it! We just hope if that is the case that you come and hear exactly what you most need to in the time you’re able to be with us! So yes, come for as much or as little as you can. Ticket prices are for the whole day and unfortunately we cannot offer discounted rates for a shorter stay.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, there is ample, free, and easy parking right outside and the venue will ensure there is clear signage to direct you as you arrive. We will also have some team waiting for you to help direct and welcome you.

Will we need to pay extra for lunch & dinner?

No. Your ticket price covers lunch and an evening meal plus regular refreshments of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cold drinks and home baking throughout the day. Good food is central to the day, so you hopefully feel comforted and well cared for!

What if my partner can’t come?

You are more than welcome to come yourself. We have had guests come alone in the past and either connect with others coming alone, or just spending the day quietly in their own company if that’s what they prefer. You absolutely don’t need to come as a couple, though due to the sensitive nature of the day and the benefit of having someone to chat it all over with who has shared in it with you, some guests have brought a close friend or family member with them if their partner can’t come.

Do I have to be Christian to come to this event?

No, not at all. You are more than welcome wherever you stand. However it is important to clearly note that this is a Christian retreat day/day conference with a focus on biblical teaching and perspectives, and drawing upon faith issues throughout the day. Plus there will be sung worship and prayer. If this would make you uncomfortable or be distracting perhaps this isn’t quite the right event for you. We don’t want anyone to feel out of place whilst exploring an already painful subject. If you are in doubt don’t hesitate to email us and we can chat it over with you individually.

Will we have to talk to other couples about our story?

Absolutely not! We can promise you there will be no group work, no ice breakers, no break-out groups, and no name stickers or anything else that will make your toes curl and have you feeling exposed! We designed the day as we so wanted it when we were going through our own infertility journey - and personally we could not have envisaged forced interactions or conversations. If you’re coming to be discrete and private, that’s perfect. If however, as many others have in the past, you actually are longing to connect or make some friendships with others in a similar situation we will find a way of connecting you on the day with others who wish to do this.

We are travelling a long way to attend, can we stay nearby?

Yes. There are so many options, from Premier Inn (a brand new huge one at Oxford Airport just moments down the road) Holiday Inn (PearTree Roundabout again just a few miles away) or check out the usual online platforms for accommodation locally. Woodstock is a beautiful town a few miles away with a variety of Cotswold style country hotels/B&B’s/Air BnB’s and the shops and stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace are there to enjoy - so why not make a weekend break of it and treat yourselves to a proper weekend retreat. There’s also the city of Oxford to enjoy nearby and plenty of options for accommodation there. You’d be welcome at our church (St Aldates Oxford) the next day too, if you wanted to, or any of the local churches I’m sure.
